Visiting the Arboretum

In the Tisza region, the average annual rainfall (520 mm) is less than in the western part of lowland Hungary (650-800 mm) or in Vienna (610 mm) or in Budapest (535 mm). So a rainy day elsewhere should not stop you from coming to visit us-most likely it will be sunny here.

The best times for a visit are in May for the spring blossoms or in late September for the glory of autumn leaves, but one can see interesting things in the park year round, every day.

Directions

From Budapest take Hwy 5 to Kecskemet (85 km) and then take Rte 44 east for about 36 km before turning off the road at the sign for Tiszakürt. As soon as you pass the elementary school ("Általános Iskola"), a large building, turn left (west), and you will see the "Arborétum" sign. Go about 200 meters to the parking lot at the main entrance to the Arboretum (GPS: N: 46° 53' 86" O: 20° 07' 04").
